  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Colored ribbons

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients in one spot. Make sure to measure everything accurately for the best results.

Cooking

  • For the fudge, bring sugar, milk, and butter to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until it reaches a soft ball stage, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Chop the dark chocolate finely and place it in a bowl. Heat the heavy cream until just boiling, then pour it over the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Refrigerate until firm, about two hours.
  • Use a melon baller or your hands to scoop out the chocolate mixture and roll it into small balls. Dust them with cocoa powder and refrigerate to set.
  • In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add the egg and mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden. Let them cool on a wire rack.
  • In a medium skillet, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir in the nuts once the sugar dissolves and cook until nuts are coated and syrup is thick, about 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Assembly

  • Start with a layer of cookies at the bottom, then add chocolate truffles and finally the candied nuts. Arrange the items beautifully, ensuring a good mix of colors and textures.
  • Use decorative elements like heart-shaped sprinkles and ribbons to enhance the presentation.
  • Attach a handwritten note or a little card expressing your feelings for a personal touch.
