Ingredients

Cake Base

  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor of your choice)
  • 1 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Coating and Decoration

  • 1 package candy melts (for coating your pops)
  • lollipop sticks (for assembly)
  • sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on a clean surface and preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions if required.

Baking

  • Prepare the cake mix as per the package instructions and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, usually 25-30 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.

Mixing

  • Crumble the cooled cake in a large bowl until no large pieces remain.
  • Add the cup of frosting to the crumbled cake and mix until completely coated in frosting.

Forming Cake Pops

  • Roll tablespoon-sized amounts of the mixture into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for about an hour.

Coating

  • Melt the candy melts according to the package instructions.
  • Dip one end of the lollipop sticks into the melted candy and insert into the center of each chilled cake ball.
  • Dip each cake ball into the melted candy, allowing excess to drip off.
  • While the coating is wet, add sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Store cake pops in an airtight container; they last up to a week in the fridge or three months in the freezer. Add flavor extracts for a twist.
