  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure the butter is softened.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Making the Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  • Gently flatten each cookie and sprinkle with festive sprinkles.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Freezing is also an option for longer preservation.
