Ingredients
  

Cupcake Base

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup milk can be substituted with nut or coconut milk for dairy-free
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • as desired pink food coloring

Frosting

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened for frosting
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk for frosting consistency
  • as desired sprinkles and decorations optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the counter. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, mixing just until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Add a few drops of pink food coloring to the batter and gently stir until the desired color is achieved.
  • Fill each cupcake liner with batter about 2/3 full.

Baking

  • Place the filled cupcake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.
  • Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting

  • Beat the softened butter in a bowl until creamy, then gradually mix in the powdered sugar and milk to achieve a spreadable consistency.
  • Frost the cooled cupcakes and decorate with sprinkles as desired.

Notes

Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They can be frozen wrapped in plastic and stored in a freezer-safe container.
