Ingredients
  

For the batter

  • 1 cup butter, softened Use unsalted butter for best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Substitute with gluten-free flour if needed.
  • ½ cup cocoa powder Can substitute with melted chocolate.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt Adjust if using salted butter.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use dairy-free for a vegan option.

For decoration

  • to taste sprinkles or heart-shaped candies Use colorful sprinkles for festive appeal.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Measure out all ingredients and soften the butter at room temperature.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mixing

  • In a bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
  • In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry mixture to the wet ingredients, blending until just combined.
  • Gently fold in chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Spread batter evenly in a greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Decorating

  • Allow to cool in the dish for 15-20 minutes.
  • Cut into squares and decorate with sprinkles or heart-shaped candies.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for longer freshness. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
