Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and measure them out.
  • In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Whisk them together.
  • Pour in the vegetable oil and water. Mix the dough until it starts to come together.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the kneaded dough with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  • Heat a pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions and bell peppers for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the chopped spinach, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Assembly and Baking

  • After resting, divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball out on a floured surface.
  • Use a round cutter to cut out circles of dough.
  • Place a spoonful of filling on one half of each dough circle. Fold over and pinch the edges to seal.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For extra crispy crust, brush pastries with olive oil before baking. Experiment with different fillings for unique flavors.
