Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips Can be replaced with unsweetened chocolate for a lower-sugar version.
  • ¼ cup orange juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest Use freshly grated for the best flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • whipped cream For topping.
  • chocolate shavings For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and tools: a medium saucepan, a whisk or wooden spoon, and measuring cups and spoons.
  • In your saucepan, pour in 2 cups of milk. Turn the heat to medium and let it heat until it's hot but not boiling, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once the milk is warm, add in 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips. Stir constantly until the chocolate melts and the mixture is creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Mix in 1/4 cup of orange juice and 1 teaspoon of orange zest, stirring until well combined.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir to combine.
  • Taste the hot cocoa and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or white chocolate chips.
  • Pour the hot cocoa into mugs, being careful as it's hot!
  • Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings.
  • Serve warm and enjoy every sip!

Notes
