  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar for decoration

Preparation

  • Begin by gathering all the necessary ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  • In a large bowl, use a mixer to cream the softened butter and sugar together until smooth.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.

Baking

  • Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each ball.
  • Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on wire racks.

Notes

Cookies can be frozen for up to 2 months. Use parchment paper layers to separate them.
