Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt Can be substituted with reduced-fat yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce Adjust based on heat preference
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Ensure your feta cheese is crumbled for easy mixing with Greek yogurt. Mince the garlic cloves finely, and measure out your honey and hot sauce to streamline the process.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). While the oven is heating, season your chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and oregano.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts into the skillet. Sear each side for about 3 minutes, until they develop a golden-brown color but are not cooked through.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese and Greek yogurt. Use a fork or spatula to blend them until you achieve a creamy mixture.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and olive oil until you obtain a smooth and well-combined sauce.
  • Transfer your seared chicken breasts into a baking dish. Spread the feta and yogurt mixture generously over the top of each chicken breast.
  • Drench the chicken with the prepared hot honey sauce, ensuring every chicken breast is completely covered.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the feta appears lightly golden.

Serving

  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • Garnish the chicken with freshly chopped parsley and serve alongside lemon wedges.

Notes

To enhance flavors, marinate the chicken in the hot honey mixture for a few hours before cooking. Experiment with different herbs like thyme or rosemary for variation.
